Thanksgiving Pie R Squared

Time to blog again!  I was so glad to have taken so many photos on Thanksgiving.  :)

After the guys woke up from post-meal naptime, the younger guys started tossing out hints.  Thomas was the first, because he's 14 and a growing young man, and is almost always hungry, and is always up for eating dessert, especially Thanksgiving pie.

Yep, there were six pies total.  My mom made a traditional French apple pie, and a pumpkin pie.  I added a pumpkin pecan, lemon buttermilk (my favorite), French coconut (Danny's favorite), and a traditional pecan pie.  Six pies.  Nine people.  You do the math.  :)

So the pies were divvied up, doled out, and deliciously enjoyed.  Oh, we also had fresh whipped cream and Andy's frozen custard.  We love Andy's.  :)

Enjoy the photos.

My kid brother, who got me hooked for good on photography.  His camera is better than mine...

My dad has a sweet tooth.  Is this seconds or thirds??

  1. The coconut sounds good. The pecans sound good also. Actually everything you and your mom make sounds good.

Is there a stove in Florida? :oD

  4. Oh, I know who "Anonymous" must be, LOL! I can tell by the nose on the sideways smiley :o) How about, since we will be in citrus-land (Indian River...yep, that's where we'll be!), we do an orange-pecan pie? A nod to FL and GA!

Christine, I am really glad that I just ate lunch before I looked at this blog...I would be heading for the sugar bag otherwise!!!

    Love you,
    Lori

  5. What a blessed time this was.
These pies look scrumptiously delicious! I think I have gained 5 lbs, just looking at your pictures.

You must, MUST, and must, LOL..... share your coconut pie recipe with us. Years ago, I had the most fantastic coconut pie at a church dinner, i kept asking who made the pie to ask for the recipe, and all I got was the name of the pie "French coconut pie". I make a good coconut cream pie, but that one topped any coconut pie I ever had in my life. It was so rich and so delicious. I have been looking for that pie recipe ever since.

You are so pretty, this is good picture of you, what a happy content smile you have.
